Sparkling Japanese sake?!

When shopping for a gift for my adviser, I went to buy some sake to go with the cheese I had purchased for his wife. I saw "sparkling sake" and thought "WHAT?! There is SPARKLING SAKE?! How cool!" I thought it would be fun to buy but speaking with the sales lady, she informed me that men do not normally drink it because it is very sweet. I bought him a more traditional sake but I decided to buy a sparkling sake for myself :-) I opened it that night, to consume with the cheese I bought for myself. It tastes like a wine cooler! While it isn't horrible, I am so glad I did not purchase it for him!
